This work reflects my struggle to engage with my inner child and passions. As I navigate my 30s my career takes precedence over everything else especially creative endeavors and recreational leisures. My sense of self often feels like another task to manage. I connect these feelings to my art by sourcing imagery from modified 8- and 16-bit video game hardware which is glitched to distortion but still recognizable much like memories of millennial youth. The glitches act as the adult filter applied to childhood memories. For some childhood becomes idealized beyond recognition endlessly chasing nostalgia for a past that never existed.
