A Three-Part Photography Workshop with Sarah Brewington Baarns
Great photographs don't start with an expensive camera. They start with learning to notice light, composition, and the stories unfolding around you.
Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time, learning to shoot in manual mode, or simply hoping to take more intentional photos, this welcoming three-part workshop will help you build confidence while developing the creative eye behind every great image.
Each session can be taken on its own or as part of the full series.
Session 1: Light & Composition
Discover how to work with natural and artificial light while learning simple composition techniques that instantly strengthen your photographs.
Session 2: Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO
Demystify your camera's settings and learn how these three fundamentals work together to create well-exposed, expressive images.
Session 3: Communication & Concept
Move beyond technical skills to explore how photographs tell stories, express ideas, and capture moments with greater intention.
Each class includes hands-on practice, approachable demonstrations, and inspiring examples from contemporary photographers. You'll leave with practical skills you can begin using right away, no matter what camera you're holding.
This workshop is designed for DSLR, mirrorless, and manual-capable point-and-shoot cameras, but curious beginners using a phone camera are also welcome. No prior photography experience is required.
