Angel of Light

This relief sculpture was created in several steps. First I sculpted a torso from clay and made a press mold from my sculpture. Then I rolled out a slab of clay that I pressed into my mold. After taking it off I repositioned the figure and added wings to look like an angel. The beauty of the clay being manipulated and ripped shows movement and energy. Through raku firing each glazed original piece is unique telling a story.
